What makes our yoga different?
Good question! Not all movement works for all bodies, and that’s especially true when you’re in the thick of raising babies and toddlers. So I set out to create a style of yoga that works with the demands of caring for kids (#achybreakyback, right?).
The early years of parenting places huge physical and mental load on our bodies. We’re repeating the same movements over and over again while we’re tired, busy and usually dysregulated – putting our bodies at risk of overuse injuries and our minds in desperate need of relaxation. Popular yoga techniques are fabulous! But they don’t account for these extra demands. They aren’t planned around the repetitive movement patterns of parenting. Which means they are often not enough to truly help you build good movement.
The Fit For Parents method focuses on reconnecting to the body and learning about your own movement habits. It incorporates corrective exercise techniques with yoga to soothe and strengthen the mind and body. The Fit flows build strength, stability and sustainability of movement that you can take with you into playtime. Or pick-up time. Or bath time, or bed time or meltdown-over-dinner time or all those other full-on times our days are packed with.

How does it work?
The Monday Movement Club is a dynamic course full of on-demand classes designed across six different categories. Want to improve shoulder mobility? Browse our strong shoulder classes and choose one that suits you. Need some attention on your core? Take a look through the core & back category. Or you can let us guide you by flowing in the latest classes, released every Monday, to learn more about your body and your movement habits. All the classes are less than 30 minutes so you can fit one in around a busy day, or pair classes together for a longer session.
The factor that sets us apart for new parents is the planning and knowledge that goes into every class. We consider common movement patterns, common injuries and the regular demands of raising kids in planning every minute of each flow. The result is yoga that will teach you how your body works in this new phase of life. It’s yoga that will give you techniques to keep up with the physical demands of parenting.
